Taylor P – 8 1/2 (AVAILABLE NOW!)

Posted in Uncategorized on December 9, 2010 by deeboville
On December 7th, 2010, i released my eighth and a half album (1. Backpack Warrior, 2. DJ Deacon P The Emcee LP, 3. The Accidental LP (w/ The Funky Accident), 4. Funk Sniper, 5. The Blue Chronicles, 6. Beware Of The Youngsters, 7. The July Sessions, 7.5 Throwaways, Rarities & Favorites (that’s the half)). It took me nearly two and a half years to write, record and release it and it’s probably my proudest project. Musically it’s very complex, lyrically it’s my most personal work and the album artwork by Erica Stephens (http://www.ericastephensart.com) is the best I’ve ever had. I wrote parts of it in New York, Chicago, LA and Portland, OR and composed and recorded it between my homes in Santa Cruz and the Bay Area. A lot of living went into this album.
Please go to iTunes, http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/taylorp4, http://www.taylorpmusic.com, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody, Napster, or wherever you get your music online and get it. It’s been getting a lot of positive feedback and i want you to experience it for yourself.
8 1/2, available now.

“Sevenfold” single FREE DOWNLOAD

Posted in Uncategorized on July 17, 2010 by deeboville

I know it’s been a long time. It’s been a little over a year since i released the first single from my upcoming album, 8 1/2, and the album still isn’t out. Sorry about that. it’ll be out before the summer’s gone. In the meantime, a year later, below is a link to download the second single from the album, “SEVENFOLD”. If it gets as much love as “Going Back To San Francisco” then i’m a lucky guy.

Lauryn Hill‘s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is one of my favorite albums ever. Here’s the woman herself in her absolute prime performing “Lost One” and “Everything Is Everything” at the VMAs in 1998.

The Life- Smile

Posted in Uncategorized on May 21, 2009 by deeboville

This is history in the making. The Life is a hip-hop group made up of some of friends and musical family members. Alexander Spit, Cambo, & DJ Effective derived from the San Francisco-based hip-hop group The Instant Messengers and are going to make hip-hop history. Take my word for it. Here’s the beautiful-looking music video by Sean Desmond for their underground smash hit, “Smile”.
